7:45 p.m. - Panel Discussion (Duncan Hall)
"The Origins of Rice's College System"
A discussion of the design, intent, and early years of the colleges led by Professor John Boles (’65) and including distinguished alumni and faculty members of the committee that authored the 1956 blueprint for the college system. Prof. Sidney Burrus (’57), Donna Paul Martin (’57), Burt McMurtry (’56), Roy Nolen (’60), Prof. Carl Wischmeyer (Master of Baker, 1957-68). 9:00 p.m. - McMurtry College Presentation (Duncan Hall) Presentation, discussion, and unveiling of plans and models for Burt and Deedee McMurtry College
9:30 p.m. - Coffee and Dessert Reception (Duncan Hall) There will be a coffee and dessert reception immediately following the presentation of McMurtry College.

College. Therefore, we decided it would be fun to bring back the tradition for our anniversary celebration! Please join us (men and women) for tea, coffee, and snacks, as well as a brief discussion of Jones history by Jones Faculty Associate Dr. Ric Stoll.

Join us for food, drinks, and festivities in honor of Jones' 50th birthday. In honor of the occasion, a brand new patio named "The Isle" for former Jones Master Walter Isle will be dedicated during a ceremony at 6:00pm. Additionally, a photo display chronicling Jones's history will be on display in the Commons. Please drop by to help us celebrate all of Jones's 50 years of glory!

6:30 – 9:00 p.m. – Concert (Central Quad between the RMC and Herring Hall) Moxie (winner of KTRU’s battle of the bands), Tee Double (Austin hip hop artist), and Okkervil River (Austin indie-rock).
